Trividia Health has announced that they will no longer be distributing TRUE2go & TRUEresult glucose monitors as well as their perspective glucose test strips, TRUEtest in United States and US Territories.
Diabetic Outlet has sold its entire TRUEtest inventory and will no longer be restocking them!
Many TRUEtest users felt a bit surprised when this announcement was made as TRUEtest was always regarded as the most popular and reliable Nipro test strips manufactured by Trividia Health.
In fact, all Nipro test strips including True Metrix, TRUEtrack, TRUEbalance, and TRUEread are widely used for home glucose monitoring domestically and globally for their reliability, affordability, and simplicity.
The discontinuation of TRUEtest has raised an important question in users’ minds as to why TRUEtest was discontinued.
Why Was TRUEtest Discontinued?
According to the manufacturer, TRUEtest is a GDH-PQQ enzyme-based test strips. GDH-PQQ enzyme-based meter systems such as TRUEresult and TRUE2go are known to have the potential for inaccurate results due to interference. Due to this potential for inaccurate glucose readings, Trividia Health has decided to discontinue the TRUEresult and TRUE2go and their perspective test strip – TRUEtest.
Choosing an Alternative Glucose Monitoring System
The discontinuation of TRUEtest has left many TRUEresult glucose monitoring owners wondering which monitoring system they should choose. Luckily there are many options from which to choose.
There are 2 routes you can take. You can either stick with the Trividia Health and choose one of their Nipro test strips shown below, or you can choose an entirely different test strip brand.
To make an informed decision I encourage you to visit each product page and click the review tab to see what verified users of those test strips have to say about them.
I have been using True Result blood glucose monitoring system. All my stock of test strips are over. Now that I am told that the entire system is discontinued, does it mean that the test monitor has no future and has to be trashed? I need to know, before I chuk it into the bin.
Hi, I am using Trueresult meter and strips recently I find out they are discontinued is this correct ? If yes you replace the meter.
Please let me know and what do you need for that replacement ?
Manufacturer is asking TRUEresult users to switch to True Metrix. Try the TRUE METRIX METER STARTER KIT to see if that’s the right fit for you. It includes everything you need to being testing immediately:
TRUE Metrix Meter, 10 True Metrix Test Strips, 1 Control Solution – 3mL, 1 Lancing device (Uses most lancets), 10 Sterile Lancets, Installed 3 Volt Battery, Instructions for Use (Read before use), Self Test Log Book, and Compact Carrying Case.
I have TRUE result Blood Glucose Monitoring System and I was using TrueTest strips. now it is discontinued, what is the alternative which is compatible with my system?
Thanks.
There is no other test strips compatible with your meter. Each meter has its own specific test strips that cannot be replaced by other test strip brands. You would have to switch to a new system. The manufacturer is recommending to switch over to TRUE METRIX.
I have been using true to go tester for quite a few years now and have had no problems, my sister also uses it. I can’t believe you are not making them any longer. I sure hope I can find them elsewhere. It is so nice to have a small tester that goes everywhere and one that I can test on my arm with also.
Hi Charlotte,
We were equally surprised to hear the manufacturer discontinue TRUEtest strips because it was such as popular and reliable test strips system. The alternative right now is TRUE Metrix.
I have tried the Truetrack and the True Metrix, I am NOT pleased with either of them.
So sorry to hear about Truetest. I have neve had a problem with these test strips.
I will have to go elsewhere to get them.
Thank You
RW
Thank you Richard for sharing your feedback. I understand. TRUEtest for the longest time was regarded as the most reliable test strip under the brand of Nipro, and one of the most reliable test strips around. You’re not alone, this discontinuation has surprised many happy users.
TRUEtest will eventually be unavailable, probably in the next month or so. At that point, you can consider switching to a new test strip system. You can find a list of glucose test strips with verified customer reviews here.
